GAP Adaptive adds two SoloRiders for community use
GAP Adaptive added two SoloRider Golf Cars to enhance accessible golf offerings in Pennsylvania for individuals with limited mobility. These accessible golf carts are specially designed to assist adaptive golfers by providing support during the golf swing and assisting in transport to all areas of the golf course including the green and some sand bunkers. As part of GAP Adaptive’s ongoing efforts to expand inclusive golf experiences in the GAP Region, SoloRiders give both new and existing adaptive golfers the opportunity to get out on the golf course and to enjoy the game we all love.

One SoloRider is available at Bethlehem Golf Club in Bethlehem, Pa. Its purchase was made possible through the support of the Christopher Reeves Foundation. A nonprofit organization dedicated to curing spinal cord injuries by advancing research and improving quality of life for individuals and families impacted by paralysis. The other resides at Paxon Hollow Country Club in Media, Pa. Both locations are committed to growing adaptive golf in the GAP Region and now serve as hubs where adaptive athletes can reserve and use these carts during casual rounds or at GAP Adaptive events. The SoloRiders can be booked by calling to the pro shop and requesting the intended date and time of use. Bethlehem Golf Club can be reached at 610-691-9393. Paxon Hollow can be reached at 610-353-0220.
The SoloRider is specifically designed for Adaptive Golfers. Its swiveling seat, elevated height, and ergonomic hand controls allow golfers to play from a seated position while maintaining stability. Providing SoloRider access supports GAP Adaptive’s efforts to grow inclusive golf opportunities for all types of players.
Both SoloRiders were used during the inaugural GAP Adaptive Championship last year offering players of all mobility types the chance to compete. Additionally, SoloRiders are regularly transported to No Limit Clinic host sites for use by clinic participants. Never used a SoloRider before? No problem. GAP Adaptive’s coaching staff and volunteers are trained to assist both new and experienced SoloRider users with operation.
If you’re interested in using a SoloRider at an upcoming No Limit Clinic or have any questions about SoloRider use at Bethlehem Golf Club or Paxon Hollow Country Club, then contact GAP Manager of Adaptive Golf Anna Kittelson at akittelson@gapgolf.org.
GAP Adaptive
In 2024, GAP (Golf Association of Philadelphia) launched GAP Adaptive to continue its mission of promoting, preserving and protecting the game of golf for all. GAP’s Adaptive Golf committee opened the season with its first program titled No Limit Clinics, a season-long series of instructional Adaptive Golf events taking place at various GAP Member Clubs. The GAP Adaptive season culminates with the GAP Adaptive Championship, a WR4GD-counting event. The field consists of local and international Adaptive Golfers.
